Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work as the Special Education teacher at my school site and each day, I work with students that have unique learning needs. All students can access any curriculum with the right supports that fit their individual learning needs, and that is what I try do each day.

When you are able to find the correct supports for students, it allows them to move forward in the learning process.

There is nothing better than finding those supports for students and watching them succeed in the classroom.

My Project

Inspiring students with disabilities to become readers can be challenging when the books they are interested in are not at their reading levels. Providing books that are more age-appropriate for my students will help inspire their love for reading. The Fly-Guy series is a great reading bridge because of the humor and fun illustrations that my students really enjoy. Providing more of those books will help them learn to love reading. The Questioneers picture book series is also rich with illustrations and set in a specific typeface for students with dyslexia.
