This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are incredibly special—they are kind, curious, resilient, and full of potential. Each one has a unique way of learning and expressing themselves, and they inspire me daily with their determination and growth. Many of my students have sensory needs or physical challenges that make old, broken student chairs uncomfortable or distracting. I love the way they show up every day ready to try, even when learning is hard. They deserve a classroom environment that helps them feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed.

The right seating can completely transform how my students learn and engage.

My goal with this project is to updated, comfortable chairs that meet their physical and sensory needs. These specific items will reduce distractions, support focus, and help my students feel more regulated throughout the day. With the right tools, they can better access the curriculum and develop independence, confidence, and joy in learning. This project is about more than just chairs—it’s about creating a space where every student feels valued and capable.
