Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My middle school students love to think outside the box and create whatever they can in our Engineering and Robotics class.
I have a very diverse population of students.
Our school is a Title 1 school with many of the families coming from out of state and country Over 90% of our students have free breakfast and lunch.
I aspire for my students the advantages given to other students and schools for good equipment regardless of their background or ability. Our students come from a wide range of economic and ethnic backgrounds. Many of our students are English Language Learners and speak many different languages. We also service a wide range of academic needs from GATE students to students with Special Needs.
My Project
The Parrot Drones give everything my students need to learn coding and program the drone's mission. My students confidence will soar as they learn to write programs that bridge the gap from the digital to the physical world. The coding activities to enable the Parrot Drones to fly will build and reinforce STEM Skills in geometry, art, math, and science.
Students will experience the thrill of flight and accomplishment as they learn to program drones.
They will be able to pilot drones through extreme maneuvers, grasping objects and flying aerial missions all with the power of code. This will engage all of my students to code in class!
