This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in our fine arts dance classes are motivated, energetic, and are finding their purpose. They are self-confident and probity in very unfortunate situations.
The students at our school represent situations of extreme difficulty, including poverty, homelessness, foster care, violence, and crime.
Many are not able to afford dance outside of school or at a private studio.
100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Due to the all of the circumstances the students face, along with the lack of funding for schools, and fine arts, our students have a hard time contributing. Our students are thriving even with the lack of support.
My Project
My dancers are so excited about being in dance and making our dance concerts better than they have ever been. With the purchase of these new lights, it will add a dramatic effect during their dances.
Lighting plays a huge role in the dance performance, and these new lights will make the dances so entertaining to watch!
Another part of being a dance teacher is helping with personal hygiene. We work very hard during class and to want to make sure each dancer is prepared to look and smell good for their next class during the day. These personal items will help make sure that happens.
There are a few other miscellaneous items that will help our class stay clean and smell clean. No one wants to groove in a dirty dance studio!
