This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students come from neighborhoods with limited access to books and other educational resources. A well-stocked classroom library allows them to dive into diverse worlds they may not otherwise encounter, broadening their horizons and nurturing empathy as they explore the beliefs and values of various cultures.
Adding books on myths, folktales, and gods and goddesses from various cultures would greatly benefit my ninth-grade language students by enhancing their understanding of global perspectives and deepening their appreciation for storytelling.
My students are fascinated by these tales, which not only introduce them to historical beliefs and traditions but also allow them to explore the roots of universal themes found in literature today. By supporting this library expansion, you would be providing them access to rich, engaging narratives that can spark curiosity and foster a love for reading and cultural discovery.
