This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-grade teacher, I’m committed to helping every student develop strong reading skills that will support their academic journey and build a lifelong love of reading. To do that, I need engaging and developmentally appropriate books that meet each child at their reading level.

This project will provide my students with a variety of leveled readers and decodable books, essential tools for building fluency, phonics skills, and reading confidence.

Leveled readers will allow my students to practice reading independently at their just-right level, while decodable books will support systematic phonics instruction—giving them the tools to decode words and understand patterns in print.

These resources will support early literacy skills in a structured and meaningful way and build students’ confidence as they progress through reading levels. It will allow for differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners and encourage reading at home and in small groups.

With your support, we can fill our classroom library with books that help all readers—whether they’re just beginning or ready for the next challenge—grow and thrive.
