This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to our vibrant dual immersion kindergarten classroom, where young minds are eager to explore, create, and learn in both Spanish and English!

Our students come from diverse backgrounds, and they thrive in an environment that celebrates cultural diversity and fosters hands-on learning experiences.

With your support, we aim to introduce a 3D printer to our classroom, igniting a world of imagination and innovation for our budding bilingual learners.

How will the 3D printer enhance learning?

Math: Through designing and printing 3D shapes, our students will gain a deeper understanding of geometry and spatial reasoning. They'll explore concepts like edges, vertices, and faces, while also practicing measurement and comparison skills.

Language Arts: The 3D printer will serve as a powerful tool for literacy development. Students will engage in storytelling and narrative writing by creating characters, settings, and props for their imaginative tales. They'll also practice descriptive language as they articulate the features of their designs in both Spanish and English.

Project Goals:

Promote Bilingualism: Encourage language development in both Spanish and English through hands-on activities.

Foster Creativity: Provide opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and think critically as they design and print their creations.

Enhance STEM Skills: Introduce foundational concepts in mathematics and engineering in an engaging and accessible way.
