This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard-workers. They are willing to try new things & take challenges head-on. Third grade math is full of brand new content, and I try to make learning engaging for them. Our class is divided into Houses like Harry Potter, and their teamwork and encouragement for each other is amazing.

My students crave creative, engaging, and challenging activities.

They learn best from each other and light up when they experience success in what they, at first, thought would be an impossible task.

My Project

My project is a creative way for students interact at a high level with multiple-choice questions. With various types of combination locks & ABCD codes, students will no longer be lucky guessers, but rather accurate mathematicians that can reason & justify their way to the right solutions. Lock challenges work great for center/ partner activities and independent work. Communication is key. There may even be some locks that open a box with House points!
