Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We're a very active kindergarten class. Students are always on the move to centers and guided reading or math groups to learn the standards we are trying to cover and keep them engaged. We love to use technology in centers and guided groups, as well as in our thematic units.

I have a classroom with students ranging from kindergarten in abilities below grade level with special needs, to above.

We have a wide range of abilities that need major differentiation. The wonderful thing about my class is that students can work at their own ability level. I do not like to limit my students to what is taught at their grade level. On the other hand, I have students who are working at a slower pace. We are working on being good leaders in our community by learning manners and treating others with kindness.

My Project

I'm so excited to learn and share these stories and songs with my kindergarten students. These phonics posters will provide my students with the "why" some of our letters make sounds and "how" they work together to make one sound.

Secret Stories will bring fun and the magic of reading into my classroom and give access to the reading and writing code.

Secret Stories® provides the logical explanations for letter sound behavior to help students read and write. These logical explanations are shared in the form of “secret” stories and songs. These stories share the reasons WHY letters make all of the sounds that they do when they get together in words. The “Secrets” work with our phonics program.
