This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The t-shirts we are requesting for donations serve as more than just garments; they are tools for our students' growth and development. By providing our students, who are in grades 9-12 and have intellectual disabilities, with the opportunity to design these shirts for the Special Olympics, we are facilitating hands-on learning experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting.
Our goals for this project are multifaceted, aiming to benefit both the students directly involved and the broader community through Empowerment, Inclusivity, Skill Development, and Celebration of Achievement.
We aim to empower our students by providing them with opportunities to develop valuable vocational skills, boosting their confidence and independence.
This project serves as a platform to engage with the community, raising awareness about the abilities and potential of individuals with intellectual disabilities and promoting acceptance and understanding.
