Unique Students Need Unifix
My students need a Unifix Cubes set and 31 Unifix stairs to get them started in basic math.
Counting 1 to 10 should be easy but sometimes its not. Our kinder students are having a hard time with most of them being in school for the first time. Many never went to preschool and did not receive much tutelage at home.
Our Kindergarten students attend an inner city public school in cash strapped California.
There are 31 students in my class which makes individual instruction an impossibility. Group instruction with fun manipulatives gets them interested in learning. They can touch and feel what they are learning.
With Unifix cubes and stairs the students will be able to learn patterning and counting. They will learn sorting skills and learn to share. Cooperation is a must in Kindergarten and in life. We will start them off right, teach them and watch them blossom.
I started in a new classroom this year that did not have any Unifix cubes and stairs and what's missing is already apparent.
Unifix cubes and stairs help the students get going, help each other and enjoy learning.
