You provided the students with books written by their favorite author, Mo Willems. \r\n\r\nI wish you could have been in our classroom the moment we opened the boxes of books. To say my students were thrilled is an understatement. The look on their faces was priceless! They started cheering and clapping. I've never seen this group of students this excited. There was so much joy in the air. All I could do was smile at them and laugh. It was a very touching moment, and I'll never forget it.\r\n\r\nAll of the students in my classroom feel successful when they read Mo Willems' books. Even struggling readers are highly engaged when they read the books. I've watched students build confidence as they read independently and to their classmates. After reading aloud to classmates, the readers eagerly await compliments from their peers.\r\n\r\nYour generosity put confidence in the hearts of my students. Because of your support, the students are able to keep their supplies organized and readily available. In the past, students would lose their writing supplies and word work words inside their desks. We tried organizing these items in plastic bags, but the bags would get holes in them, and everything would fall on the floor. Thanks to you, now the students quickly find their supplies and words. They no longer waste valuable learning time trying to find their supplies.\r\n\r\nYour support helped set my students up for success for the rest of the school year. I explained that kind people wanted them to have fun during physical education. They clapped and cheered!\r\n\r\nStudents take the balls outside every day for our PE block. Most of the students had never thrown a football or learned how to use a soccer ball. They have had a lot of fun working in teams, passing, kicking, and bouncing the balls. Our class didn't have any PE equipment of our own. We had to use whatever old, flat, and dirty balls were left in the hall cabinet.
