Our school is a Leader in Me school. We strive to have every child find the leader in them. Each student brings different leadership qualities to the school and it shows throughout the school day. Our school is also a Title I school. This means all of our students receive free or reduced lunch. In my classroom, students love to show their leadership qualities while doing their jobs, class work, and helping each other and their teacher.
In my class, there are 20 students from vary diverse backgrounds with diverse needs.
Of my twenty students, 6 of them are identified as special education students, and 7 are identified as English Language Learners (several students are dual identified as both). My class is super sweet and it shows with their kindness and drive to always help.
My Project
These unique materials will help my unique students that require some extra support in the classroom in various ways. The light covers, seat cushions, noise cancelling headphones and slant boards will help my students with various sensory needs. The visual schedules and extra magnets will help with my students who require a visual throughout the day to either stay on task or to help them transition more easily.
These various sensory materials will provide a more welcoming classroom environment for my students who require extra sensory support along with a visual support.
