They were so excited to use tools that felt \"new\" and \"special,\" and it really encouraged them to take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nMany of them immediately started exploring the items with curiosity, asking questions, and sharing ideas about how they could use them. Their enthusiasm made it clear that these resources will have a lasting impact on their engagement and confidence.\r\n\r\nRight now, students are working on building their reading fluency and expanding their academic vocabulary. The next step is for them to begin applying these new skills in short reading passages and collaborative discussions. As I unpacked it questions began to circulate about the materials. The big box contained small group comprehension activities.\r\nAs we sat around the table it was nice to see the class engaged in our learning activity. Students love when you give them a dry erase marker to use in class. We discussed inferencing and worked together reading short stories and making inferences.\r\nWe are anxiously waiting to get started in our new book, Holes.
