My Project

I teach 6 wonderful students in the Stars Program who are excited when they experience new things visually and by touch. They have specific sensory and tactile needs and benefit from hands-on experiences.

Gardening during the school day provides many benefits to students in their learning environment.

It is a calm, quiet activity in a natural environment and provides an opportunity to follow directions. Another benefit of school gardens is that they are a great way for students to learn the importance of taking care of a living organism. Another thing is a school garden is a place to promote great social connections and habits. While working in the garden, students will learn the precious skill of cooperation.
