My Project

The large cart will assist with carrying supplies and finished products created by my students to be displayed on campus. The clothes pins will be used to create stars, snowflakes, wreaths, jewelry, photo holders, trivets, planters, clips for food bags, paper holders, and doll furniture, The popsicle sticks and the hot glue sticks will be used to create mini Adirondack chairs, popsicle bracelets, farmhouses, furniture for doll houses, jewelry boxes, lighthouses, stick mirrors, napkin rings, photo puzzles, birdhouses, airplanes, bridges, lamps and birdfeeders.

My students will grow socially and emotionally through self-confidence, responsibility, appreciation for self and others, and respect for materials and safety.

The joy of being able to create a product in our business class will bring smiles to their faces, that will enlighten my heart. When working with wood, it is discipline. The children will practice perseverance and focus, develop gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination and also build self-esteem.

The clothes pins, popsicle sticks and hot glue sticks will be placed in bins on the shelves at the back of our classroom and will help the "crafters be crafty" with the creation of their wooden products which makes the process run smoothly from day to day, at the start and the end of class, when time is called for the cleaning process to begin. First and foremost, when engagement is increased of all students, it shows me that I value each person in the classroom and it allows the students to be unique.
