One of our favorite projects was learning about different fruits. We made a fruit salad and were able to store items in our refrigerator.\r\n\r\nWhen the refrigerator and microwave were first installed, my students were thrilled. Their excitement turned into curiosity and questions, which led to spontaneous conversations about how food is stored, why it needs to be heated, and even where food comes from.
