Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students do not have enough resources to have enough equipment on the field for practice. Our program is always fundraising in order to provide our students with enough equipment to perform to their highest ability.
Our students come from a low socioeconomic area where many things such as sports are extra and viewed as unnecessary expenses.
We have numerous multiple sports athletes that struggle with fundraising for every sport. As a program, we want to provide as much assistance as we can for our student-athletes so they do not have to take on the financial burden that sports can present.
My Project
Our softball players need new uniforms for their upcoming 2021 season. Many of our students on campus, including our student-athletes, can not afford to buy extra luxury items, like training, practice, and game apparel. While our athletes fundraise for many things they cannot fundraise for everything, especially being multi-sport athletes who fundraise every season.
These jackets will be essential in keeping the athletes confident in their presence on the field.
