I teach kindergarten in Texas. Our kindergarten class has been impacted by not only Hurricane Harvey, but the current cold and flu season! It is important for the students to be well and in class to gain all the knowledge offered.
As a teacher of young students, I see how important it is to have appropriate clothing for class.
Having uniforms without holes and that fit correctly improve the students performance not only socially but academically. Many families can not afford new uniforms as the students grow throughout the school year or as the uniforms get worn out.
We are a Title I school, and many of our students are from low-income households. The students who make up the community of our school come from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Please, help us provide uniforms and have a successful school year with a positive experience!
My Project
Having uniform shirts, shorts, and dresses, free of stains and holes, that fit the students well are essential for the students' school experience. When the students do not have to worry about their clothing(uniform), it makes a difference in the students' confidence, daily school experience, social interactions, and academic success. When the students are not worried about having an appropriate uniform, they are more focused at school and happier.
Towards the middle of the school year, many student's uniform attire is worn and becoming to small.
Providing this essential (clean and correctly sized uniforms) would improve each students' school day and learning.
