This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students of my school are a diverse group of children that are subject to an urban poverty stricken neighborhood. Everyday life is not easy and sometimes okay for some. They come from all different backgrounds but mostly Hispanic and African American. A lot are surviving in single parent homes.
Our children in spite of their community are Phoenix.
They choose to rise from the ashes to be great magical and powerful about their learning. The are resilient, persistent and dedicated to getting out of their sometimes negative environment to be the change they want to see in the world.
My Project
This project will definitely improve the student lives because it allows a sense of equality. If the school can make and produce a school shirt, then students who can't afford or do not have a clean T-Shirt that day will be provided one.
The student will not feel inadequate or less fortunate if they don't have on a uniform.
It will deter bullying and build confidence in our students so that they can put more focus into their school work and academics. This can also benefit under funded extra curricular activities with uniform T-Shirts this will also promote unity in the school. The T-Shirt press provides a cost effective way to produce mass T-Shirts for students in need. Starting off with the vinyl allows us to test the quality so teachers can purchase vinyl for their class T-Shirts for shows activities and special days.
