My children are challenged with an urban environment where many of them face daily challenges that affect their learning. My students, if given a chance and the proper resources, will soar like eagles and rise like the phoenix. Our children come from low income families where education is not always the priority in the household. The children want to learn and succeed but sometimes that thirst is only quenched by a teacher, like me. The children want a chance and a fair shot at getting out of their environment. My school is a public school with a principal who cares about the children. It has its challenges and has recently gone through many changes in both staff and curriculum. My school is going to be great but we still have challenges we must overcome. It is important that teachers seek out their own resources to help the students get the best learning available.
