This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Project

My students are resilient, caring and they are always open to growing and learning as long as they have someone that they trust to help guide them along the way.

Students will learn to cherish, respect, and understand the perspective and needs of our EL learners through classroom conversations. We have a high number of EL students that are showing progress to be reclassified. Most students have the experience at our school of not understanding 100% of what is said in class due to language barriers. So when students master English as a second language it is celebrated.

Students will work to decorate a dinner for our families to come celebrate reclassification from English language learners to being proficient in English. My students will see how this truly changes the lives of these families through speeches and making that family connection. By showing compassion and caring about others my students will grow as well.

In conclusion, these items collectively teach students to see the world through the eyes of others. I'll gauge students' comprehension and application of compassion through their demonstrated acts of kindness and supportive behavior towards their peers and their families
