Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom cultures are changing! Our school is about 80% bilingual. When these students come to the classroom, or any other place in the building, they find it very difficult to acclimate and be successful simply based on the fact they are not yet fluent in English. Many of these students are fluent readers and writers in their native language, but face incredible struggles with communication. These devices will help with translation and communication for ELL students. They will be able to communicate with others and understand what others say.

Being unable to understand a lesson, or even be able to communicate with the other students and people around them, can be a seemingly impossible challenge.

The voice translator devices will allow the students to feel more a part of the classroom and culture, and will help them more quickly learn the language.

The translator devices will also help my non-English language students keep motivated to learn and help them to not get frustrated with their new environment.
