The students at our school range from grades K-4. In music class students have the opportunity to sing, move, and use basic classroom instruments to work on skills such as rhythm, beat, melody, and creating songs in collaborative groups. The students also have the opportunity to perform in chorus and band. In addition, there is an after school strings program. I would like to introduce a string element to my classes to not only prepare students for strings and band ensembles, but also to reinforce skills (such as note and rhythm reading and technique) that are learning in music class. My students are really excited about learning and developing new musical skills, and have been asking for a guitar or ukulele element in their music classes. The addition of a ukulele program would be extremely exciting and rewarding for my students. I am looking for a classroom set (25 ukuleles) that can be used with multiple grade levels. I am also looking for hangers to properly store the ukuleles so they will be safe and be able to be used for many years to come.
These Kala ukeleles will allow students to incorporate music skills in a fun and exciting way! Students will develop note reading, rhythm reading, and technical skills while playing songs and having fun. In addition students will learn how to work as a team and develop collaboration skills. The KALA ukeleles are a great option and will be used for multiple grade levels. The ukeleles will be used by students year after year as students progress with their skills and learn more challenging music. The hangers will allow for easy and safe storage so that the ukeleles will be able to be used for years to come!
