Students cannot participate in the band program unless they rent or purchase an instrument. Increasing the amount of school-owned instruments will increase the amount of students who can participate in this program. Since many students cannot afford to rent or purchase an instrument, school-owned instruments such as trumpets and trombones are a vital supply for this program. Students in the band benefit educationally by learning how to work together, develop reading and math and memorization skills, and can develop a sense of teamwork and perseverance. I know my students will be excited to be able to participate!
