This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Last year, I received a grant (yay!) to purchase a set of ukuleles for my students. I was able to get 16 ukuleles for us to use, and my students have been loving ukulele so far this year! Most have little to no music experience, but the ukuleles make it easy for them to play easily play chords and they have such a blast playing along to their favorite songs. However, our class is 25 students, so they have to share instruments - as a result, they really only get to have a half of a class' worth of playing each time.

Having a full class set of instruments will allow all my students to have equal playing time and be able to play for the entirety of class!

This will help them to understand the concepts better, retain more information, and get more playing time in, especially given the limited amount of time we have together. Your donation will be so greatly appreciated and such a help to our classroom!
