Ukuleles for Beginners

Help me give my students the opportunity to play and experience the joy of playing the ukulele.

My Students

My students are in grades 6th through 8th grade from a small rural town. I love teaching music to my students to give them a way to express themselves, communicate, and build community within my classroom. Our district is small and the funds are not available to purchase ukuleles for my general music classes at this time.

My Project

Thanks to DonorsChoose, I was able to start ukuleles in the classroom with my middle school students this school year. However, I have found that I need more ukuleles and different sizes to accommodate all of my students.

Music can be enjoyed throughout your life, and I want my students to be lifelong learners.

Currently, I only have soprano ukuleles. It would be beneficial to have different size ukuleles such as the concert and tenor size ukuleles for my students.
