This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are creative and clever. They also love music, so I always hear them humming when they do their work at their table.

They have not had any art or music instrument classes and my school does not offer any instrument classes.

We need ukuleles for my class. I just started to learn to play ukulele every week, and I want my kindergarteners have the same experience. I want to provide them with creative and meaningful learning experience.

My Project

Your generous donation to our project will help my kindergarten classroom by engaging and making fun. The children will learn phonological awareness skills by playing ukulele. As they learn to play ukulele, they will sing a song like alphabet song or it’s bitsy spider. My students have shown a great interest in string instruments. I feel that the ukulele will be a good fit for them since the instrument is easy for the little ones to learn to play a couple of Nursery Rhymes already familiar to them. It can be a great confidence booster, playing for friends. This project will change students’ lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age... having fun while learning. And they will continue to love the music in their life!
