My Project

We are an Oklahoma public high school with a diverse demographic. Daily I work with students who are “at-promise”, “with-advantage”, “facing socio-economic challenges”, “suffering from mental or physical health”, “with learning disabilities”, “gifted and talented” and “with and without strong support at home”. Our school district is urban and takes pride in public education.

Over the past two years, Covid 19 has disrupted learning.

Students and staff have questioned their personal safety while attending school. We have been isolated, lonely, stressed, and strained. It has caused physical and mental health issues. Many of the simple joys of a typical school day have disappeared due to smiles being covered by masks and teachers stepping away from students in fear of their own health being compromised. Events used for promoting students' skills and raising funds have also been canceled.

This coming year we are starting a new digital photography class. During this class students will learn about digital photography. Having digital cameras will give students hands a hands on learning experience. My hope is for students to delight in the experience using a Canon EOS Rebel T7 digital camera and develop a passion for digital photography.
