I am so sorry that this is so late, but I waited to do this project until this month so that I could teach them many different printing methods and sewing techniques that could also be used on their altered clothing assignment. I am glad that I waited because they are incorporating so many different mediums into this project. I have students screen printing, linoleum printing, Gelli printing, felting, embroidering, and painting onto their clothing. \r\n They are cutting up shirts and pants, adding artwork and then sewing them back together. It is fun to watch them problem solve what materials will work on their clothing, how to use seam rippers, and sew on sewing machines, and paint with fabric paint on cloth, which is very different than paper. It's used not only for creating paintings themselves, but also painting on sculptures. These materials were used not only to teach basic color theory and mixing, but students also have what they need to express themselves and their ideas. This year Art 1 students have created beautiful monochromatic and complementary paintings, Art 2 has experimented with color matching and created stunning mixed-media artwork involving painting. 3D 1 and 2 students have painted miniature model sets and toys that they made. And these are just SOME of the things we have done so far...and the year is not over yet! Art 1 is currently creating vibrantly painted Pop Art cardboard sculptures, and I could keep going on...instead, I'm going to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU again, and upload photos of a wide variety of student artwork created with your generous donations!","fullyFundedDate":1750722492499,"projectUrl":"project/tickled-pink-to-paint/9174900/","projectTitle":"Tickled Pink to Paint!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Black","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2651075_orig.jpg?crop=1621,1621,x694,y941&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667431765358","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2651075"},{"teacherId":2651075,"projectId":8855367,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for everything you have done for my students. The notebook stations encourage movement, collaboration, and problem-solving, which has increased student participation and motivation. Students who were previously hesitant to engage are now more confident and actively involved in lessons.\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped create a more interactive, student-centered learning environment where students can take ownership of their learning and deepen their understanding of key concepts. Receiving the TI-84 CE graphing calculators has made a meaningful difference, especially because they are rechargeable. This allows us to reduce battery waste while ensuring calculators are always ready for use during instruction and assessments. The TI-84 CE models are also more powerful than our older calculators, giving students the ability to graph in multiple colors instead of just black. This helps students better distinguish between graphs, identify patterns, and make connections between equations and their visual representations.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the TI-84 CE calculators is how modern and user-friendly they feel. Many students are more engaged when using these calculators because the color display makes math feel more accessible and less intimidating. Students who previously struggled to interpret graphs have especially benefited, as the color features help them separate and compare functions more clearly. Because these calculators are more expensive, we are especially grateful for this donation. My hope is to eventually build a full classroom set so that all students can consistently benefit from this technology and continue developing confidence and enthusiasm in mathematics.","fullyFundedDate":1759417248077,"projectUrl":"project/getting-techy-for-math/9474892/","projectTitle":"Getting Techy for Math!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chang","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8040300_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x144,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634693531434","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8040300"},{"teacherId":9185501,"projectId":8654158,"letterContent":"Thank your for choosing to fund this project.
