Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in the inner city with public school children. They are inquisitive and interested in new things. Most have not been exposed to many new things. I like teaching them about things that they would normally not see or encounter on a daily basis.

My students can be challenging, but they also will work hard to meet expectations once the expectations are set.

Most of the students that will use this equipment will be special needs students. We don't have much to offer them, so I am trying to get more things to use with them. Our students are bright and need someone to advocate for them. Most come from poverty stricken neighborhoods, but somehow make the journey to school every day because they know that there is opportunity here and opportunity breeds success!

My Project

The materials that I am requesting will impact my students immediately! I can already see the excitement on their faces! There will be enough smiles to brighten anyone's day!

The Twist N Scoot scooters will allow my adapted students a chance to move around the floor on a scooter that doesn't require them to be able to use both legs.

This will allow my disabled students a chance to move freely despite their disabilities.

Using these scooters will also allow for easier positioning on the scooters. They will have somewhere to put their feet, instead of having them on the floor.
