My students need Osmo games that provide appropriate twenty-first century skills!
This project expired on July 12, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are between the ages of four and six. Many of them have not been to pre-k and often experience school for the first time when they come to my class. I teach in an urban, Title One school, which partially means that a high percentage of my students come from low income families.
Just because my students come from low income families does not mean that they cannot learn.
Students at my school learn the value of hard work at an early age and are absolutely capable of success.
Kindergarten students love to explore! These kids are happy, funny and eager to learn. My favorite part of the beginning of every year is the excitement and shock on the kids' faces when I tell them that I am going to teach them to read!
Many schools are pushing for students to learn twenty-first century (technology) skills. My students, though in kindergarten, are pushed to become more familiar with keyboarding and iPad apps.
While I believe that these are necessary and helpful, it is very difficult for my young students to stay engaged and connect the on-screen tasks with real life application.
This project, that includes an OSMO system and accessories, will provide students with not only the skills they need, but also with a hands-on approach so that it is both fun and appropriate for five year old students! This project can be used for all levels of learning in my classroom!
