Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The vast majority of my students (90%) receive free and reduced-price lunch at school. For the most part, the free meals that they get at school are the only meals they will eat for the day. Money at our school is very tight, especially for sports. Being able to provide our students with the best equipment is always a struggle. Our sport, girls' basketball, is all about building confidence, and that is the one thing that many of our students lack because they really have nothing to be confident about. Basketball allows them to gain confidence. This is where we hope you can help our kids raise their confidence levels.
My Project
My basketball players will use the TV and rolling cart to move from room to room to watch a review of their games. Currently, we are using a projector in the head coach's room. Students have to walk very far from the gym to review game footage. This TV and cart will be stored in a storage space in our gym. Students can roll out the TV and cart when necessary to review game footage. They will apply their thinking skills in analyzing the footage. Students will be using problem solving skills that they have learned in science and math to draw conclusions. The cart can also be easily moved to a different coach's room. This update in technology will make help students maximize their time. This project will help upgrade the technology of our team.
