My Project

Our students are curious, resilient, and eager to learn. They bring unique perspectives to every discussion and thrive when they can connect with stories that reflect their lives or introduce them to new experiences. One of the most powerful moments in our classroom is when a student becomes fully immersed in a book: asking questions, making connections, and sharing their thinking with confidence.

The resources in this project will help us build a dedicated reading resource room centered around engaging novel studies.

With access to a wider variety of high-interest, culturally relevant texts, students will be able to participate in shared reading experiences that strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. Class sets of novels will allow us to dive deeper into themes, characters, and meaningful discussions, while also giving every student equitable access to the same materials.

These resources will support small group instruction, whole-class novel studies, and differentiated learning opportunities so that all students—regardless of reading level—can grow and succeed. Most importantly, they will help foster a love of reading by giving students books they can’t wait to pick up, talk about, and remember long after they’ve turned the final page.
