it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the new school year approaches, I am developing new hybrid workspaces to promote students' blended learning. Blended learning fuses traditional in-class learning with independent virtual work. Students are proven to learn better in a blended-learning, technology and hands on classroom. This will support our students with disabilities by giving them the opportunity to self-pace and self-regulate. Given our exposure to virtual and the students' acclimation to this style of learning during the pandemic, they benefit from both virtual and traditional styles of throughout the school year preparing them for college. This iMac will give me the opportunity to download applications that teach students how to develop 3D files that can be printed on our new 3D printers.
This iMac will contribute to project-based and blended learning by providing students access to creative 3D applications.
Unfortunately, working in a public urban school means that oftentimes, our most wanted and needed items (such as technology) go overlooked as more immediate needs are prioritized. This initiative will support a new project-based learning program that I am developing allowing students to apply their learned skills to real-world scenarios. In other words, students will be problem solving in both Chemistry and Environmental Science for sustainability issues around our school. These projects promote emotional investment in their work and allow students the opportunity to grow social skills through group efforts. This iMac will give me the tools I need to make these opportunities possible for our students.
