My Project

Help Build a Classroom Library for Our Title I Readers

My third-grade classroom is full of bright, curious students who are eager to learn and grow as readers.

As a Title I classroom, many of my children face challenges outside of school that can make accessing books at home difficult or even impossible. That’s why it’s critical that we provide a rich, leveled classroom library to meet their diverse reading needs.

A leveled classroom library ensures every student can find books that are just right for them—books that match their reading level and spark their interests. When students read books they can both decode and understand, they build fluency, confidence, and comprehension. According to the National Literacy Trust, students who read for pleasure are five times more likely to read above grade level.
