My students need laptops to expand their learning beyond the classroom and to increase differentiation of instructions, to obtain different ways to access and learn materials.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are an amazing group of mostly African American students that come from a diverse urban background from disenfranchised communities in Baltimore City.
My students are very interested in many topics and
have much expertise in technology for they are very knowledgeable about the internet and social media. At home many students have access to some sort of technology yet there are no computers in the classroom for them to use for research, writing, studying of the subjects of science and math.
My Project
In a world where students use technology to gain access to the internet, to connect with their friends, family, strangers, via their cell phones, computers, laptops, etc. I choose HP laptops for my students to be able to access for learning.
I would like for my classroom to also be a place where students use HP laptops to explore and learn more about the world of math and science.
Turn Up, Turn on the Technology will allow student groups to use Laptops to work together to do research, watch educational videos and to create a website/blog that displays their learning and questioning.
