Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of 20 pre-kindergarten students. My school is a Title I school with 77.2% of students coming from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. My class is an inclusion class that consists of general education and special education students. Therefore, because I am teaching very young children with different abilities and levels it is essential to differentiate my instruction and make it engaging
"Mother Nature has the best box of crayons." My students love being outside and exploring in our outdoor learning centers.
They love painting with the easel outside, they love building with LEGOs and blocks and they love playing with our sand table. I would love to include toy trucks for my students because they love anything with wheels and trucks. We have a building study in our curriculum where we discuss the way things are built and what we use to build those structures. The toy trucks like Mighty Excavator, Mighty Crane, and Bulldozer would be a great addition to include in our sand table for outdoor learning. As well, we can use them in our indoor learning with our block area to help them explore more about our building unit.
I see these learning materials will only enhance my students' school experience and academics.
