Trippin' with Tut

My students need the admission paid to the Indianapolis Children's Museum, their entry to the Tut exhibit, and the transportation cost for said trip.

Children in Indiana get very few opportunities to visit a museum, and especially to see an exhibit like the King Tut exhibit coming to the famous Indianapolis Children's Museum. The 6th graders are part of a school where a large number of children receive free and reduced lunches. We are a "small town" school hoping to give our students a "city" experience that they will never forget.

One of the major units that we teach is Ancient Egypt. There is always such a fascination with the subject of King Tut. We have gone to the Children's Museum in years past, but the grant is no longer being offered. We have taken a short bus tour of the capital and are always amazed that the children have never seen the state capital or the city of Indianapolis. This would be a WONDERFUL opportunity to not only visit the museum, but to peruse this special exhibit and see Indianapolis.

We really just need the funds to make this trip possible. We already have an extensive unit where we study Ancient Egypt and do projects, like profiles of their bodies made into ancient Egyptians. It is so much fun here at school, but our children need the outside experience of this trip. They would not be able to afford the expense of this one day trip.

If you agree to help us, it will be invaluable to our students. It will be something that they will never forget and an experience many of them will never get to have without this grant.
