Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For the first time in my 21 years teaching, my students are all virtual learners this year as a result of the Covid19 pandemic. As the second grade level distance teacher, I am working hard to provide these students with the best online learning experience I can provide.
My students are actively engaged learners who participate in every live class and assignment provided.
Many are from low income families, with our school considered Title I because of the number of students receiving support services. While these students are home more often these days, that means they are participating in even less enrichment activities.
These technology tools will allow my students the richest, most engaging experience online learning can provide. They are doing the best they can to learn under incredibly challenging circumstances, and and these materials will help them so much. Thank you very much for your consideration!
My Project
Google Cardboard Kits are virtual reality tools that allow students to participate in virtual field trips. Students insert a smartphone into the cardboard frame, and they are immersed in guided learning trips all over the world.
Students will be able to see and experience engaging learning experiences using these tools.
As their teacher, I will be able to guide them through various field trips as if we were there live.
Field trips in the age of Covid19 need to be creative, and by accessing technology in this unique way, we can guarantee these students the best learning we can. Thank you!
