My students need chair pockets for their class storage. They also need a classroom laminator with laminating pouches to protect their classwork and center activities.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a walking burst of energy, with eagerness and are ready to learn each day. I want them to think that this is the best kindergarten class ever. I want them to feel like anything they need is right at their fingertips to enhance their learning each day. No matter what background they come from they can be excellent learners.
I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They are excited about learning and want to learn all they can. I want them to know that I am an advocate for them and they can achieve anything!
My Project
I am requesting a reorder of a set inexpensive chair pockets. I want students to be prepared for the day. Kindergarten students struggle with the many transitions throughout the day. This will give them the opportunity to keep the needed supplies right at their fingertips or (their bottoms). This will keep their pencils, crayons, notebooks or folders etc. accessible. Students need durable materials that will last throughout the year.
The chair pockets will be placed on the back their chairs and will help organize their daily demands right at their desk.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic day at hand, and not whether they can get up to get materials for the day. Plus it will increase the time spent on task and not be a classroom distraction. The laminating sheets will help to preserve reusable materials for classroom activities.
