My students need calculators to assist them with various lab activities and assessments. My AP Biology students need the Bacterial Transformation KT PGlo Biorad kit so they can perform a required AP lab.
I began teaching at this school 2 years ago and love these students and this community. We have wonderful youth in our school that work hard and are passionate about their school activities. Education is valued by so many families here, and my students want to grow.
My students hunger for lab experiences, especially those that use modern technology and are relevant to their lives.
I can get these students to follow my lead in the normal classroom, but they take the lead in the lab!
My Project
My passion is to get my students excited about science. This involves doing science, rather than just reading about it. My Biology classes will be performing many labs throughout the year and we need scientific calculators to help students analyze lab results. Having calculators available to each student will assist them in these lab activities and independent work. Students are not allowed to access devices like cell phones during class time to avoid distraction, so calculators are needed to perform various statistical calculations for labs. My UIL students will also be able to use these calculators for their contests throughout the school year.
My AP Biology students will gain modern lab skills through performing a Bacterial Transformation, and genetically altering bacteria so they glow.
This is a wonderfully successful lab kit that will enhance their learning and fulfill one of the 8 required AP lab experiences for the year.
