"Write a story/response/paragraph..." we tell students all year long. Do you remember how much brain-work is involved in putting a story on paper? When writing letters and words has not become "rote", writing can be intolerable.
My students: K through 6th graders who learn differently and work their buns off to meet the demands of getting an education.
Society calls what they have a "disability". I teach them it's a "different ability". My urban students come once or twice a day from their regular, Montessori, and self-contained classrooms for writing, reading, and math support.
My Project
My wonderful students struggle with writing for many reasons. Some don't think in a linear fashion. Some think they have no stories or ideas. Others don't know how to write letters, words or sentences. Many find gripping a pencil to mark on a page extremely stressful. These vibrating pencils with weighted or chew tips will provide sensory integration, focus, and the ability to write on paper like typical peers. Writing with one will stimulate the brain to more quickly grasp the "rote" aspects of writing, enabling children to advance as thoughtful writers.
I've used dollar-store vibrating pens in the past, but they were cumbersome, short-lived, and confusing.
These pencils are specifically designed for children and classrooms. They remind me of magic wands! They will make my students' hard work pay off faster and more securely.
