My Students

The students at my school are from a rural farm community in Indiana. We have a small school at the edge of a large corporation. Our students come from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We are lucky to have great families that work hard and are involved in our school events, but we don't get a lot of extra funding from the state because our school does not qualify as a Title I school. Title I schools have a higher level of students that qualify for free and reduced-price lunches than we currently have.

My sweet kiddos are hard workers, but they have lots of extra energy and thrive during hands-on activities.

We try to keep moving around our classroom several times throughout the day to help with this. I also have tried to incorporate a flexible seating environment to keep their little bodies wiggling, while engaged in learning, while at our seats. We have had a lot of success when we use hands-on manipulatives and activities.

I love to provide learning opportunities that will get my students moving, thinking, and stimulating their learning by creating.

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers has a wide range of age appropriate resources that are an amazing addition to our current curriculum. I find myself finding great items that are easy to print and use in my classroom. I used it more the past year as my young students were learning from home at times and it was easy to find a practice activity for them to use at home. This year I would love to find a new morning activity that is a quick review for my students to work on while I am checking their folders and getting everyone settled in for the day. We are also planning on doing more small group activities to meet more individual students needs and I have found several resources that would be a great resources to use!

Teachers Pay Teachers provides so many amazing activities that my students can benefit from in every subject area and I am excited to get more activities into my classroom using this gift card!
