This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Learning Specialist who works with students in grades 2 and 3. I spend my days teaching small groups reading and math skills based on their individual academic deficits. A HUGE part of my job is providing accommodations for kiddos while ensuring that they meet the goals set with their IEP's. I know the needs of my kids extremely well and am constantly learning with them. I wish I could spend more time creating my very own center work and supplemental educational material. The reality of my job does not allow this type of freedom, but it does give me access to the work that many other educators have spent their time working hard to create. Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) is a website dedicated to teachers that has a limitless supply of educational materials. A lot of the items are free, but there are some that are at a cost. I would love to be able to purchase a couple sets of different center work to support the unique needs of my students with their reading, writing and math skills.
