This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Copper Canyon CTE department puts on CPR training for students. The Criminal Justice class has expanded this to include First Aid. One of the skills taught in First Aid is the application of a tourniquet. This is an essential life-saving skill that requires hands-on practice to fully grasp the process and correct application. These trainers would help bridge the gap between educational and practical.

The students truly benefit from actual hands-on practice as it relates to emergency responding and the skills needed to be successful in saving a life.

This is the beginning of incorporating first aid in the Criminal Justice course and will help pave the way to additional certifications as the students progress throughout the year and their high school time. Please be on the lookout for future fundraisers for similar equipment to be used in the classroom to better our students.
