My Students

I have amazing students with a variety of special needs in my classroom. My students receive their primary education in a special needs classroom and go out with regular ed classes for lunch, recess, and specials.

Our students attend school in a low income area of town and 80 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Our diverse classroom is full of high energy boys and girls with varying levels of disabilities. Our students use and need varying supports and experiences to help them meet their educational and social skills needs at school. My students love learning and being engaged in activities.

My Project

In my classroom, we have amazing hands on learners. TouchMath: Complete First Grade Curriculum will provide my students with multisensory reinforcements needed to learn math skills that they need. It will provide them with hands on activities and manipulatives to learn adding, subtracting, fact families, place value, expanded form, geometry, algebra, time, fractions, and so much more!

This project would significantly help my students understand their math concepts.

After completing this curriculum, students would be able to complete their math work independently using manipulatives and strategies provided by this program. The more my students are able to do independently the more confidence they will have in math and in themselves to complete other academic areas.
