When I originally created the post, I was covering a Grade 2 classroom during maternity leave and needed seating for students because we didn't have a carpet. The cushions I first wanted were unavailable, which turned out to be a blessing: my role shifted and I now work with small groups across Grades 2–5.\r\n\r\nWith your donation I purchased 10 cushions that students use during small groups in the hallway. The sensory tubes have been invaluable for helping students calm and regulate emotions, especially those who are autistic. The tens-and-ones manipulatives and magnetic strip number line provide hands‑on visuals that support adding, subtracting, and decomposing numbers, and the flashcards help with math-fact review and solving equations. The large red clock has also been helpful for teaching timing and pacing skills.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a real difference in our students' learning. We are very grateful for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1763149898164,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-find-a-place-to-sit/9565909/","projectTitle":"Help Us Find a Place to Sit","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ramirez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10164800"},{"teacherId":10062095,"projectId":9428741,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project! My students have absolutely loved the chairs and have used them every day since we received them. These chairs allow my students to move and rock while they sit at the table, and they love them! By providing my students with the opportunity to move while they learn, they have been more engaged and emotionally regulated during instruction. The movements students are able to make in these chairs are stimulating, but still safe, as the chairs are very stable. I often find my students softly rocking in them while they work. The next step too my project is to have students experiment with the other ways these chairs can be used as they sit around the room. I am implementing these new ways to sit very slowly to enforce the expectations fully as I do so. \r\n\r\nAs I said before, my students love these chairs! They were in awe when we first got them, and I have been so proud of how responsibly they have used them. They make learning so much easier for my students. My students can sit comfortably at the table with plenty of room to move and rock. Thanks again for sponsoring my project!","fullyFundedDate":1760715323713,"projectUrl":"project/learning-is-flexible-so-seating-should/9428741/","projectTitle":"Learning Is Flexible, So Seating Should Be Too!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Washam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10062095_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750701402761","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10062095"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2393","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":480,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.9,"schoolId":2393,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jackson Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jackson Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/kannapolis-city-school-district/jackson-park-elementary-school/2393"}
