Help me give my students all the things they need to start reading! I would love to have the Touch and Read Phonics match - Complete set for my students to help them learn CVC words.
I teach Pre-K at an Early Childhood School in Texas. My class is a blended class, consisting of at-risk students based on income, English is their second language, or they have special needs. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, energetic, and always ready to experience something new!
They love to move, read, and learn! Many of them are being raised in single-parent households, and all of my students receive a free breakfast/lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. My goal is to inspire even our earliest students to become lifelong learners!
My Project
I currently have 38 students who are in the process of learning to read. I have about half of my students who have mastered their letters names and sounds and are read to work on sounding out words.
The Touch and Read Phonics Match-Complete set will be great for my small guided reading groups.
Another item that will help students with their reading and writing is the Fill-In-The-Blank Phonics Stamps and stamp pads. This will give students independent practice on sounding out words.
The pockets charts that are requested will be for our Phonemic Awareness Word Study and Nursery Rhymes. With limited wall space in my classroom the magnetic pocket chart will be great to go on the whiteboard.
