My Project

In my unique classroom, our students rotate through stations. One station in our class is task boxes.

The task box station allows students to develop independence by following a visual schedule to complete their assigned tasks.

Each student has specific tasks that they need to complete each day. The Hot Dots Jr. Pete the Cat Kindergarten set will allow students the opportunity to practice readiness skills such as letters and numbers. The Hot Dots Jr. Ultimate Science Facts will allow students to practice the science skills we are learning in class independently. The Melissa and Doug Smoothie maker set will provide student the opportunity to practice following visual directions to create smoothie orders. The Bestbase Wooden Montessori Board will allow students the opportunity to practice fine motor skills that are career related. The wooden burger and sandwich sorting set will also allow students to practice following visual directions to complete orders.

These items will enhance our task box system which allows students the opportunity to work independently and develop important skills.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
